William McCluskey Solicitors was opened by William McCluskey over 20 years ago. Prior to that he served as a police officer and during that time gained experience in the investigation of crime and the preparation of reports to the Procurator Fiscal. He was also selected as a firearms officer and went on to become a tactical advisor and firearms instructor. Consequently he was involved in the planning and preparation and was deployed in numerous major incidents over a period of 10 years. He has a breadth of knowledge and experience in this and related areas including the transportation of hazardous substances and related regulations. His background equips him well to properly prepare and plan the investigation of the case on behalf of the defence and an insight into the methods used and procedures that should be adhered to in gathering evidence.
Emma Jane Skett trained within the firm, was enrolled as a solicitor in 2006 and has been a part of the team ever since. Miss Skett has a background in business relations and Human Resource Management which gives her a broad base of knowledge outwith the law which she draws upon for her clients. She undertakes all aspects of criminal defence work but has an interest in matters involving the Children’s Hearing system and has built a practice in that area.
Give their varied backgrounds both Mr McCluskey and Miss Skett have been invited to and participated in Law Society training sessions and Miss Skett is also part of the Law Society Mentoring scheme. She has also been a guest lecturer at The University of Glasgow.
